During our first year of marriage, a friend gave us some home grown avocados from Florida. They were massive! At least twice as big as the ones you find in the grocery store. Now at that time Joshua didn’t like avocados, but I challenged myself to find a recipe using avocados that he would actually enjoy.
I thought chocolate might help disguise the avocado flavor so I looked online for some inspiration. The result: chocolate avocado pudding! I made it while he was at work so he didn’t know what was in it. When he came home, I let him try it and he loved it! Soon after he asked when we could make it again!
5 Simple Ingredients

This recipe is so easy because it takes just a few ingredients and they are pantry staples.
- Avocados: these are the base for this chocolaty treat and are a wonderful healthy fat
- Milk: you can use any kind of milk including dairy free milks
- Vanilla: you could leave this out if you don’t have any, but I think it adds a nice flavor
- Cocoa Powder: this is what gives the pudding its richness
- Raw Honey: instead of using sugar, I opted for honey in this recipe. I especially like using raw and unfiltered honey
How to Make Avocado Chocolate Pudding
I really like making this recipe because it is so easy! Place all the ingredients in your blender and blend until smooth. We were gifted this blender set for our wedding and it is a tool I use almost every day. The recipe is simple enough that my little ones can help me make it. It is wonderful to be able to share the joy of cooking with them in the kitchen.

Easy 5 Ingredient Avocado Chocolate Pudding
Ingredients
- 1 avocado, ripe
- 4 Tablespoons milk
- 1 teaspoon vanilla
- 2 Tablespoons cocoa powder
- 2 Tablespoons honey
Instructions
- Add all ingredients to a blender and blend until smooth.
- Store in a glass container in the refrigerator.
- Enjoy!
